Executorships

When you draw up a will, you will need to name an executor to carry out your wishes after you are gone.

For someone who has never acted as executor before, this role can be a daunting prospect, so you need to think carefully about who the best person might be to appoint as your executor and whether you really want to burden a member of your family or a friend with the task.

At Banks & Co, we have extensive experience in acting as executors, giving you peace of mind that the administration and distribution of your estate will be in safe hands when you are no longer around.

As your executor, we can take care of a wide range of responsibilities, from obtaining the grant of probate (which allows us to collect and distribute the assets of your estate) to dealing with your tax liabilities and paying any debts.

We will identify assets and distribute these as specified in your will and administer assets, such as a property or a business, until they can be sold or transferred. We can also act as a trustee of any trusts created in your will.
